Saved and compared resources
Guest Save controls and comparisons store public resource IDs in this browser’s local storage. Other people using the same browser profile may see that selection. Remove items through the controls or clear the site’s browser storage. When accounts are enabled and you are signed in, Save adds resources to your private account list. Your device list remains separate and is imported only when you choose Import in My space. Account resource IDs are held in page memory rather than copied into the guest list. Comparisons remain a public resource selection on this device.
Finder and shared links
Finder preferences appear in the page URL so results can be rendered by the server. URLs may appear in browser history and hosting request records. Do not put sensitive personal information into filters or messages. Shared comparison and shortlist links contain public resource IDs; they do not include an email address or private profile.
Original tools and worksheets
Answers and amounts entered in our tool workspaces stay in the page memory in this browser. They are not sent to our server, placed in the URL, or stored as an analytics dimension. Reset or reload clears them. Exported files and printed pages may contain your answers; keep those copies where you choose. The downloadable blank templates contain original illustrative examples rather than your private information.
Know yourself assessment
Guest questionnaire answers, trait feedback, values, goals, plans and check-ins stay in page memory. They are not submitted, placed in the URL or sent to analytics. Reloading or leaving clears them. Downloaded plans may contain your goals, notes and check-ins; keep those files where you choose.
When accounts are available, saving a completed personal assessment requires an explicit choice. This sends the answers, selected values, goals, reflection and any confirmed plan to the private member service. The server calculates the scores and stores a dated record with the questionnaire, scoring and report versions. Examples cannot be saved. The optional values and weekly reflections also require a choice to save. Record dated check-ins in My space; undated guest check-ins are not uploaded by the assessment save flow.
If you choose to save before signing in, a pending copy is kept in this tab’s session storage for up to 15 minutes to finish the save. You can clear it with Clear the pending copy or Clear my answers. Closing the tab clears its session storage; an expired copy is removed when the page runs again. The pending copy is never sent to analytics.
The separate contact invitation sends only your email, explicit request to be contacted about Good Next Move tools, and verification token. It does not submit your assessment, email your plan, or automatically subscribe you to a mailing list. It follows the editorial-message retention periods below. You can use the guest assessment without an email or account. Use our contact form to withdraw a contact request.
Private accounts
Good Next Move manages account registration and sign-in on our own domain. A one-time code verifies access to your email address. We store your email, internal account identifier and sign-in sessions alongside saved resource IDs, assessment records, plans and check-ins in a separate private Cloudflare D1 database. An essential, secure account cookie keeps you signed in. Cloudflare delivers the sign-in email and hosts this service. Member API responses use private, no-store caching controls. Your account email does not subscribe you to marketing, and private assessment information is not included in the site’s aggregate action counts.
Records remain until you delete your account. My space lets you download a JSON export and request account deletion. Deletion removes your active account identity, sign-in sessions and private member records. Sign-in codes expire after 5 minutes and cannot be reused after verification. A minimal marker containing the user identifier and account creation and deletion dates is retained to prevent interrupted requests from recreating deleted records. Hosting backups may retain earlier copies under the provider’s recovery retention; deletion from the active service does not erase recovery copies instantly. Downloaded files and guest device selections remain under your control. Sign out after using a shared device.
Editorial messages
Correction and submission forms send your message, the resource reference or name and URL, and an optional email to the editorial API. Messages are private review records and are not automatically published. An email is optional and should be included only if you want a reply. Resolved messages are removed after 90 days from resolution; unresolved messages are removed after 180 days from receipt, through scheduled maintenance. Do not include sensitive health, financial or relationship information. Cloudflare Turnstile verifies submissions before they enter the private inbox.
Aggregate useful actions
On goodnextmove.com, a small first-party script counts page opens, goal selections, filter applications, no-result states, finder completions, comparison views, shortlist saves, shortlist/comparison sharing actions, provider-link opens, hub and guide opens, and tool start, completion, and download actions. It sends the action name and, where relevant, a public resource ID, one stable public goal ID, or a published content ID. It does not send query text, budget, platform or other raw preferences, an email, a referrer or a visitor profile. Collection is skipped when your browser sends Do Not Track. Counts are untrusted actions, not unique visitors or evidence that a resource helped someone.
Daily action totals are kept for up to 365 days. Raw event records are not stored. To limit automated requests, the server temporarily stores a salted hash derived from the request IP and an hourly time bucket; that private bucket expires after 24 hours. The raw IP is not stored in the analytics tables. Cleanup runs through scheduled maintenance.
Cookies and browser storage
The directory does not set advertising or analytics cookies. Saved and compared resource IDs use local storage, as described above. On the production domain, when Do Not Track is not enabled, the script also stores only the most recent UTC visit day in this browser. A later visit on another day within 30 days can send a self-reported return action. That event contains no day history or browser identifier. Shared or cleared browser storage can change this count, so it is not a count of returning people or a retention cohort. Do Not Track suppresses both event collection and updates to this marker. You can remove the marker by clearing site storage. Cloudflare security and the form-verification service process requests under their own controls; this is not a promise that every hosting or security service uses no cookies.
Hosting and operational data
Cloudflare serves the site and processes network requests. This public interface installs no advertising pixels, visitor analytics library, or third-party font requests. Operational security and hosting logs may process request information. Automatic Worker invocation logs are disabled; operational error diagnostics may still be recorded.
Contact
Use the contact and corrections form for a privacy question or a request about a message you submitted. Include only the information needed to identify the request; an email address is optional.
