When to use this tool

Use this calculator to inspect a planning commitment in one currency over a chosen number of months. It adds setup and other one-time costs to recurring costs, and separately totals setup and recurring hours. Optional caps show the difference between the limit and the estimate. No revenue or demand is inferred.

Connect it to the decision

Keep quotes or documented provider charges separate from invented estimates in your notes. The result changes when your inputs change; it is an arithmetic record, not a forecast. If another currency is selected, re-enter amounts in that currency because no conversion is performed.

Questions to resolve

Do my worksheet answers become site content?

No. The tool uses your entries in browser memory. Use the explicit print or export action if you want a copy, and reset to clear the workspace.

What does a blank amount or answer mean?

Blank means not entered or unknown. Use zero only when that is the actual amount you intend; the calculation asks for required inputs instead of silently assuming them.

How to use it

  1. Enter your own estimates in one currency. Required blank inputs stay unknown; enter 0 when there is no cost or time.
  2. Choose 1–120 whole planning months. Each cost input is limited to 1,000,000 currency units and rounded half up to that currency’s minor unit. Hours accept up to three decimal places and are limited to 100,000 per input.
  3. Total cost = setup + other one-time costs + months × monthly costs. Total hours = setup hours + months × monthly hours. Optional caps show cap minus total; a negative difference means the estimate exceeds the cap.
  4. The result is a planning estimate. It does not infer demand, income, returns, or a currency conversion.

Hypothetical example: setup 35.50, other one-time costs 20, monthly cost 12, and 3 months total 91.50. Setup 4 hours and 6 hours per month total 22 hours. A cash cap of 100 leaves 8.50; a time cap of 20 is exceeded by 2 hours.
